Yacht Expeditions

Our support vessel, Equinox is a custom-built expedition yacht. It sleeps up to 6 guests in 4 private state rooms and comes with all you need to explore Southeast Alaska and returns each night to a beautiful mobile base. Food is prepared on board using ingredients sourced locally and gathered during the day’s outings.

Kayaks leave the boat each morning as the Equinox motors to a new anchorage. Kayakers explore passages, islets and waters, lunch on a prepared meal at a remote wilderness site, then meet the mothership at the night’s anchorage. Kayakers and the Equinox remain in contact throughout the day via handheld VHF or sat phone.

Tongass National Rainforest is the largest temperate rainforest in the world. The greater forest extends from Washington State all the way north to the Kenai Peninsula and Southeast Alaska is the heart of this miracle of life. 

The outer coast is rugged and wild, filled with multiple archipelagos, protected inner channels and stunning outer coasts. Great trees tower in the lush forests giving shelter to wildlife and clear streams. The ocean is home to a phenomenal array of life, kelp forests, intertidal zones, marine mammals and many species of fish and invertebrates. There is nowhere on Earth to rival this environment’s diversity, beauty and bounty.
