Day-Use Kayak Rentals
If you have previous kayaking experience and you’re interested in doing a self-guided paddle, Sitka Wild Coast Kayaks would be happy to provide you with kayaks & gear through our rental department. We also welcome the opportunity to provide our wealth of knowledge about possible half- and full-day paddling routes, and answer any questions you might have.
Single-Day Kayak Rental Rates
- Standard Necky Looksha single kayaks $100 per person
- Delta kayak available for multi-day rental only: $100 per day (no discount for multi-day)
- High performance kevlar/glass Lightspeed: $150 per person
- Stable high-quality Double Kayak $100 per person
All prices listed without 6% city sales tax
Multi-Day Kayak Rental Rates
Kayak Rental Rates for three or more days:
Single: $75 + 6% tax
Double: $150 + 6% tax
Unless approved in advance, all rentals must be returned by 4:00pm.
HP single not available for multi day rental without prior experience with SWCK or verifiable history.
What Is Included
All sea kayak rentals include: life vest, spray skirt, paddle, bilge pump, sponge, laminated chart(s) of the intended paddling area, and assistance designing your float plan. Rescue floats are available on request.
Additional Items Available
If desired, we provide the following: small dry bags ($2.00), medium dry bags ($3.00), large dry bags ($4.00). Fishing poles are available at $10 per day.
Rental Requirements
At the time of booking your kayaks we will ask you to give some background regarding your previous kayak experience. We are not trying to put you on the spot – this is done only to ensure you’ll receive the appropriate type of information during your 15-30 minute orientation session. All renters must be able to demonstrate, on land, the proper technique for a self-rescue.
Damaged, Broken or Lost Equipment
Please refer to our policies page for equipment and gear that is damaged, broken, lost or returned in exeptionally dirty condition.
What You Should Bring
Layered clothing, comfortable shoes, rain gear, a warm hat, sunglasses, water bottle & snacks. Don’t forget your camera, and bring your cell phone (we have good coverage in Sitka Sound).
